Julia Detre is a Ukrainian portrait photographer based in Hong Kong.
She started photographing from the young age drawn to discovering new places and moments, and later developed a deep focus on portraiture and self-portraiture as a calm, reflective practice.
Nowadays Julia Detre creates images that focus on subtle gestures and the quiet confidence that appears when someone feels truly seen.
Her work moves between intimate portraiture and everyday city atmosphere, capturing warmth, presence, and personality without forcing a pose. Julia sees photography as more than documentation — it's a way to reflect, connect, and create images people return to like a memory.
